BNI Excelsior

BNI National Director Charlie Lawson signs The Shirt

It was a great pleasure to meet up with Charlie Lawson (above right) at a superb BNI Excelsior visitors day in Chelmsford where he was keen to add his signature to the BNI shirt. A huge boost to the project! Thanks, Charlie.

The meeting was a testament to the power of BNI with over 40 guests and several visitors including the Mayor of Chelmsford who I had the opportunity to talk with about the project. Councillor Alan Arnot was delighted to receive the project’s pin and to sign the shirt.

One of the things that differentiates a good meeting from an average meeting was the attention to detail and nothing was left to chance at this Visitors’ Day. Congratulations, thanks and respect to all at Excelsior and to the staff at Regiment’s Way.

It was also an opportunity to meet up with three great BNI ambassadors Kevin Wright, Gill Tiney and Danny Sheehan Tiney from

Apart from being Assistant Director Gill is one of the very few business coaches I would listen and Kevin offers the Wright Financial Advice. He’s a guy that walks the walk and is a credit to his profession, his chapter and BNI. Gill and her husband Alan were kind enough to feed and water me on a day when they had a million and one other things to do and I will not forget their kindness or the welcome I received at Excelsior. I look forward to returning for a “normal” meeting and also to visiting Alan’s Stansted chapter.

Gavin Burt, the chapter director, kindly took time out from his hectic morning to tell me a little about his own business too. He said, “Beanstalk is a specialist outbound B2B Telemarketing agency that takes an intelligent approach to accelerating sales for its customers. We provide cost effective, well-planned telemarketing campaigns that deliver results, and our professional Telemarketing Agents are experts at reaching Decision Makers and communicating with them in an engaging, non-scripted manner.” I was impressed with Gavin and am delighted already to have brought him a quality referral. I hope there will be more.

  • Thank you for your kind words about Excelsior, but as you were part of our driving force we can’t take all the credit. Your presence and inspiring journey brought out the best in all of us. You are more than welcome to visit any time – both the chapter, and for B&B anytime. Best wishes, Gill

  • Steve Hall:

How kind. You had a great bunch of guys and I hope the chapter is filling with more members after the visitors’ day.

I’d love to come back and visit you for a “normal” meeting and also visit Stansted. Don’t forget I am looking to speak to “Mr Brown” re his partners’ programme.
