Gillingham FC

I first saw Gillingham way back in 1965 in a 1-1 Home Draw with Doncaster. It was love at first sight and nearly 55 years later it is still the first result I watch out for. The years have generally been poor but a little run in the Championship at the beginning of this century is a lasting memory with big games against Manchester City, Leeds United and Sunderland. I even remember a historic night in 1973 (?) when the Priestfield Stadium was crammed for a visit from Aston Villa who had slumped into the old Division 3. Happy Days!

I was pleased to see this information (first published in www.GillinghamFC.com

New kit to be worn for first home game of the new season versus Burton Albion on 11 August 2018

We are pleased to announce that, on Saturday, our players will take to the field in our black and white 125-year anniversary kit.

The kit was worn for the first time on Thursday morning for a special photo, which will form part of a commemorate certificate which every supporter will receive on arrival ahead of the Burton Albion fixture.

This is likely to be the one and only time the anniversary strip will be worn at the Medway Priestfield Stadium this season, and there are only a limited amount of certificates. However, a small number will be held back and given away on a first come first served basis.
