Day 107

Outstanding BNI meeting in Copthorne, near Gatwick

Stayed with Colin & Jean Heath – he’s possibly the most interesting person I have met on whole journey. He’s cycled extensively both solo and tandem and gave me masses of tips. A classic which I would love to known before I started is, “Eat before you are hungry and drink before you are thirsty”. They don’t teach you that at university ….sadly. They are the parents of proactive BNI AD Tracie Shippey who most definitely went the extra mile to see I was well looked after so HUGE thanks to the whole family! Your support is most appreciated. Tracie is also an active cyclist and recently completed London to Paris in 4 days so knows exactly the challenges of life on the road.

Cycled on to Gillingham, Kent. Arrived late at a YHA and fell asleep during first five minutes of England versus Bulgaria. Woke up 1-0 up and I stayed awake for the rest. Good performance and bodes well for the sterner test of Switzerland next week.
