Doing The 92

My name is Steve Hall. I am a Brit who lives in Spain and who loves football.

In 2010 I cycled to all the 92 football league clubs in England and Wales. I set off in May and finished on 23 September 2010. I was met with almost universal kindness, hospitality and friendship.

I had great plans for retracing the route in 2020/2022. Sadly Covid and then a long spell in hospital scuppered my plans.  I will soon announce a new trip.

Please check through the site to learn more about the project, the people involved and how you can also help and get involved.

Thanks

Steve

  • Steve,

Glad to hear that you are almost fit and well again, albeit minus one fingernail.

Could be a lot worse and glad to hear that you are still in one piece. Don’t forget to ask them to refit the stabilisers when they rebuild the bike for you! LOL

BTW, I’ve saved a Spanish flag for you, the fly in pride at Spain being both World and European football champions.

    Keith

  • Steve Hall:

Thanks, Keith. Yes, no harm done and I am already planning my routes from next week. Northumbria, Durham, Yorkshire and onwards

Superb achievement by La Roja. Hope to see them in Poland and Brazil.

  • Hi Steve, well done, a truly fantastic achievement!!!! (And great to see you pictured at Leyton Orient). Saludos from Michelle in Spain 🙂

  • Steve Hall:

Thanks. Yes, Orient was on the final day and if I had the same reception at all the other 91 clubs then life would have been sweeter.
Respect to this little club with a big heart.

  • James Clark:

Hi Steve, well done on your cycle ride. I googled “cycling all 92 football league grounds ” as Im looking to do the same in 2014 for Autism awareness which my sister has. I am a big baseball fan and will be tking 4 months off work to first drive around all 30 major league stadiums, over 10000 miles having done 22 as of now, then cycling around the 92 having done 74 as of now and furthermore all 8 British Open venues as Im a golfer too which of course would take in Scotland.

Do you have any tips about staying overnight? B+B’s?

I would like to ask what route you took. I live near Manchester but support Leeds so ideally I would like to finish the journey there and I would be starting my journey as near to Heathrow, maybe QPR or Brentford.

    Any tips would be great,

    thanks, James
