Lego Stadiums

Lego Stadiums
I just had to add this from the BBC
A man’s mission to build all 92 English League grounds out of Lego
Chris Smith has combined his passions for football and Lego, and has set about reconstructing all 92 English League grounds. So far he has built nearly half, including Manchester Utd’s Old Trafford, QPR’s Loftus Road and County Ground, home of Swindon Town.
He told 5 live: “I was surfing the internet one day and found that nobody had already embarked on this project so I thought I’d have a go at it myself.”
Chris says the trickiest Lego constructions were Wembley and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
This clip is originally from 5 live Drive on April 12 2017.
brickstand is the attempt to create all 92 league grounds from Lego bricks. It is now a live Kickstarter project where you can get involved in making this happen. Please follow this link for all the information

Royal Antwerp FC
Limited Edition Antwerp Box
It took 13 years but Royal Antwerp FC are finally back where they belong after reaching promotion to the First Division in Belgium. To celebrate this we have made an exclusive Antwerp box for the real fans.
Obviously the book from football photographer Marco Magielse about Antwerps’ iconic stadium ‘de Bosuil’ is not missing. From this book we have selected one of our favorite pictures to make a special T-shirt and luxury art print. Both the book and print have been signed and numbered by Marco.

Small, but an eye catcher for sure, is the Subbuteo figure based on the 1970s Antwerp kit as hand painted by David Baxter from the UK. And as a finishing touch a football scarf in the red and white Antwerp colors is added to the box to show your love for the club on the stands.

Jeff Stelling (Again!)

Jeff Stelling
I am excited to have received this email from Jeff Stelling today. It is so important that I pass it on in its entirety
Dear STEVE
Marching to Wembley feels like only yesterday
You may be aware on this day last year (30 March 2016) I completed my 262 mile march from Victoria Park, the home of my team Hartlepool United, to somewhere we’d never been, Wembley, for Prostate Cancer UK.
We were joined along the way by 400 people fundraising to help stop prostate cancer being a killer. Together we raised over £420,000 and we reached thousands, possibly millions, of people across the UK on TV, radio and in the press.
Last year was an amazing and humbling experience. With Russ Green (former Hartlepool CEO now at Rochdale) by my side for the 10 day journey we met so many people with inspiring stories. Like Kevin Webber, a 51-year-old, diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer and given two years to live. This year Kevin will be doing all 15 days, warming up to it by undertaking the Marathon De Sable. He’s raised thousands and aims to raise even more walking with me, and he’s getting his company involved too. Like many football fans he was unaware of the disease until it turned his life upside down.
Why it won’t be a difficult second season for Vardy
After the agony and ecstasy of the walk last year, particularly the agony, so many people, like Kevin, have been in touch with me, with stories of their fight against prostate cancer. I decided I couldn’t sit on my backside and do nothing. And with your support I know we can make this bigger and better than last year. It has to be. Prostate cancer kills one many every hour in the UK and we need to make sure as many men and their families are aware of the risk of the disease.
Find out about this year’s route
I want to get out there and meet as many people as possible, and raise the money to stop this disease in its tracks. I’ve seen and heard how it is ruining lives of families across the country and that’s why I’ll be putting on my walking boots in 2017. And I’d love your support. If you haven’t already signed up now is the time to join me and help us beat this disease.
You can find out more about the route here: prostatecanceruk.org/jeffsmarch.
We hope you can join us for an amazing adventure in June.
Best wishes
Jeff Stelling
Prostate Cancer UK ambassador

Smells like a Shirt

Smells like a Shirt!
Smells Like a COPA Football Shirt
Football and music have walked hand-in-hand since the 1960’s when George Best became the world’s first rockstar footballer and earned himself the nickname ‘the fifth Beatle’. We specialise in football but draw inspiration from music too. We have combined these passions to create a unique football-themed tribute to one of our musical heroes.
Kurt Cobain was the lead singer of mighty Nirvana, the band revolutionised alternative rock in the early 1990’s and remain a huge influence on many a quarter of a century later.
The year 1991 saw the band release the ground-breaking “Smells Like Teen Spirit” single. The shirt that Kurt Cobain wore in the video influenced this special COPA release. With this football shirt we pay homage to the cultural impact Nirvana had and still has 25 years later. So wear your Kurt Cobain shirt with pride and Come As You Are.

Hinchas

Hinchas
The picture used for this new T-shirt is taken by World Press Photo winner Alejandro Kirchuk during a Superclasico match between Boca Juniors and River Plate in Argentina.
In most Latin American countries football is a powerful passion. It unites people from different social strata, genres and cultural backgrounds. Football works as a social equaliser.
Boys playing in a slum, men in a private neighborhood, girls facing a final match, guys gathered in a rural area, crowds celebrating in a derby match, blind people feeling the game more than anyone; all these situations are bonded by the strong passion for football in Maradona’s and Messi’s land.
The T-shirt can be found on copafootball.com, in their flagshipstore in Amsterdam and via selected retailers and online resellers.

Beanies

Beanies
Yes, I know they are not really shirts (!) but a hero of mine is remembered, The Great Dane.
Yes, my friends at Copa Football have come up trumps again. Read on…
COPA Beanies
Inspired by some of the most iconic football designs in history we have added two beanies to the collection to stand out from the crowd.
Love it or hate it, but the Schmeichel goalie shirt from the 90’s was eye catching to say the least… It took us many sample trials and errors but the Schmeichel beanie is finally here to survive the cold days in style.
Purple and red might not be the most obvious colour combination but the Fiorentina 1984-85 shirt is arguably one of the best shirt designs ever. In our opinion at least, so this gave us the inspiration to create this Socrates beanie.
The beanies can be found on copafootball.com, in our flagshipstore in Amsterdam and via selected retailers and online resellers.

Barcelona Retro

Barcelona Retro
Our friends at Copa Football are very proud to show their official retro collection of yet another iconic club: Futbol Club Barcelona. It’s a new retro collection designed and manufactured under official license to the club.
Barça is “més que un club” “More than a club” and very proud of its unique identity and history. The first collection consists of four classic retro shirts, a Barça captain retro T-shirt and a My First Football Shirt© for the youngest fans. They take you back to relive the rich history of the club. The classic retro shirts are based on the first ever official shirt from 1899 and different historical shirts from the 70’s & 80’s.
The collection can be found via copafootball.com, in their flagship-store in Amsterdam, in various FC Barcelona fanstores and via selected retailers and online resellers.
Chapecoense

Chapecoense
The world of football suffered its worst ever air accident in November 2016 when a flight carrying the Brazilian team Chapecoense crashed near La Unión, Colombia. Among 41 dead were 19 players. 41 wasted lives and 19 players who would never again wear the green and white shirts of the Chapecó club.
The Spanish newspaper Marca ensured that every Spanish La Liga club would be represented at the proposed memorial museum in Brazil. They hand-delivered the shirts of the 20 La Liga teams of the 2016/2017 teams which had been autographed by the respective players.
The president of Chapecoense, David de Nes, was visibly moved by this demonstration of support from the Spanish teams.
